Po tem, ko so konec junija zaradi slabih vremenskih razmer odpovedali eno najzanimivejših regat razreda Classe Mini, Mini Fastnet, bo jutri, 14.07. ob 13.uri, sedemdeset jadrnic v francoskem Locmiquelicu startalo na regati za dvočlanske posadke, Simrad Open Sail.

Dvesto milj ob bretonski obali bo ob izpadu Mini Fastneta eden od vrhuncev letošnje sezone regat Classe Mini. Kristian Hajnšek bo torej končno dočakal svojo otvoritev sezone in tekmovalno preizkušnjo pred septembrskim Transatom 6.50: »Zadovoljen sem, da bom po poškodbi začel tekmovati. Predvsem pa se veselim tega, da bom za posadko imel odličnega jadralca Remija Aubruna, ki je tudi moj in Andražev jadrar. Torej bo to odlična priložnost, da preverimo, ali smo se dobro odločili glede novega seta jader za to sezono«. Andraž se v začetku sezone na Open Sail Simrad ni prijavil, raje je izbral regato Trophee Marie Agnes Peron (na kateri je v začetku junija bil peti), po odpovedi Mini Fastneta, pa je bila startna lista že zapolnjena.

V soboto bodo na startu v Locmiquelicu vsi glavni igralci letošnje sezone: Yves Le Blevec, Adrien Hardy, Peter Laureyssens, David Sineau. Manjkala bo le Isabelle Joschke, ki ima letos za pasom same uvrstitve na stopničke. Regata bo hitra – na cilju tekmovalce pričakujejo v 24 urah – in eksplozivna. V takšnih razmerah bodo do izraza prišle navigacijske sposobnosti posameznih tekmovalcev.

After cancelling the Mini Fastnet race in June due to the bad weather, 70 minis will start the Open Sail Simrad race tomorrow, Saturday July 14th.

The 200 miles long double handed race along the coast of Brittany is expected to be one of the hihglights of the Classe Mini circuit since the cancellation of the Mini Fastnet. For Kriostian Hajnšek this will be the start of the season onboard Adria Mobil 509: “I’m excited to start competing and I’m really glad my crew is Remi Aubrun - an excellent sailor and mine and Andraz’s sailmaker. So for us this will be an opportunity to test the choices of sails we made for this season”. Andraž Mihelin did not apply for the Open Sail Simrad reace, he opted for the Trophee Marie Agnes Peron instead, but after the cancellation of the Mini Fastnet the race was already fully booked.

All the favorites of the season will be on the start on Saturday: Yves Le Blevec, Adrien Hardy, Peter Laureyssens, David Sineau. The only one misssing will be Isabelle Joschke who has a really good season so far. It is expected to be a fast race - ETA is 24 hours, and due to the conditions teh navigation skills of the competitors are supposed to be the deciding factor.
