Mini Fastnet zdaj dokončno odpovedan
Danes ob 13.05 so organizatorji dokončno odpovedali regato Mini Fastnet. O razlogih zakaj je Kristian na svojem blogu napisal:
Nekaj minut pred dvanajsto je čez zavese dežja zadonel dvojni pisk sirene. Start regate je bil prestavljen do nadaljnjega obvestila. Okoli 13. ure je sirena zapiskala še trikrat, regata je odpovedana. Očitno je problem v močnem vetru, močnem dežju in visokih valovih pri prečkanju poti trgovskih poti severno od otoka Ouessant. Spremljevalne ladje so sporočile, da veter v sunkih dosega do 40 vozlov, perioda 5 metrov visokih valov je 7 sekund, vidljivost pa je zaradi močnega dežja nična. V teh razmerah se miniji skrivajo med valovi, 100 članska flota pa bi bila kljub radarskim odsevnikom na jamborih popolnoma neopažena na radarjih transportnih ladij. Vsled tega je organizator še enkrat in tokrat dokončno odpovedal regato, Minifastnet 2007.
Today at 1 p.m. the race commitee cancelled the Mini Fastnet race - this time for good. Kristian on his blog about the reasons why:
A few minutes before noon a doble hooting of a siren through the wall of rain announced the race was postponed until further notice again. Then just a few minutes after 1 p.m. the triple hooting announced the race was cancelled. This time for good. The problem is strong winds, a lot of rain and the huge waves north of Ouessant Island. The accompanying boats have issued a warning that there are more gusts of wind that exceed 40 knots, the interval of 5m waves is 7 seconds, and the visibility is second to none. In these conditions a fleet of minis would be practically invisible to the large transport ships altough they have radar transmitters on their masts. Hence the Mini Fastnet 2007 is now definitely not going to happen.
